10 Morgan Dollars MS64 by PCGSDescription:
The Silver Morgan Dollar is a favorite among collectors. You will receive ten Morgan dollars with different dates and/or mintmark's certified MS64 by PCGS. The Morgan dollar was first minted in 1878 and much of the discussion about the Morgan Dollar centered on who the beautiful portrait on the coin was. The public demand caused a reporter to disclose this beautiful woman in 1879, Anna Willess Williams, a schoolteacher, as the one who posed as Lady Liberty for the coin. The Morgan dollar for the next 100 plus years has proved the most popular coin to collect. Engraver George T. Morgan was given the duty of designing the new dollar. Morgan asked Anna Willess Williams, a schoolteacher, to pose as Lady Liberty for the coin. Williams agreed only reluctantly, insisting that her involvement be sworn to secrecy. In those days, modeling was regarded as a job unbefitting a decent woman. Unfortunately for Miss Williams, a meddlesome newspaper reporter eventually spread word of her participation in the project. She was summarily fired from her schoolteacher job as a result. This coin has a quality (GRADE) rating of 64 out of 70 (This quality (GRADE) rating comes from the Sheldon scale on the theory that a "70" would be worth seventy times as much as a "one"). PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) is a publicly held company and enjoys broad confidence in the coin industry, great protection and peace of mind. Limited numbers of these remain so act now before they are gone. Over looked by many, this collection will maintain a low mintage and its popularity among collections is highly sought. This is exactly what collectors look for in a collection!
