These coins from the US Mint hoard kept in their vaults for over 100 years. In the 1970's the US Mint sold these to the public and are called GSA dollars (General Service Administration). The Morgan dollar is one of America's most collected coins. It was minted from 1878-1904 with a 16-year interruption before bringing in back for a final year in 1921 until the new Peace design was adopted later in that year. Each of these coins is from the Carson City Mint "CC" and very popular with collectors. Prices have escalated dramatically in the last few years due to the millions of new Morgan Dollar collectors.
